Duke of Edinburgh Award
The Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) is a youth awards program founded in 1956 by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. It encourages young people aged 14 to 24 to develop skills, engage in physical activities, volunteer in their communities, and undertake adventurous expeditions. The program has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold, each requiring increasing levels of commitment and achievement.
Participants choose activities in four sections: Skills, Physical, Volunteering, and Expedition. Completing these sections helps young people build confidence, resilience, and teamwork skills. The award is recognized globally and aims to empower youth to make a positive impact in their lives and communities.
