Duke William IV
Duke William IV, also known as William IV of the United Kingdom, was born on August 21, 1765. He was the third son of King George III and became Duke of Clarence and St Andrews in 1789. William served in the Royal Navy before ascending to the throne in 1830, following the death of his brother, King George IV.
As king, William IV was known for his support of reform, including the passage of the Reform Act of 1832, which expanded voting rights. His reign lasted until his death on June 20, 1837, after which he was succeeded by his niece, Queen Victoria.
