Duke Robert I of Normandy
Duke Robert I of Normandy, also known as Robert the Magnificent, was born around 1000 and ruled as the Duke of Normandy from 1027 until his death in 1035. He was the son of Richard II of Normandy and Judith of Brittany. Robert is best known for his military campaigns and efforts to strengthen the duchy, as well as for being the father of William the Conqueror.
Robert's reign was marked by conflicts with neighboring territories and internal struggles for power. He participated in the First Crusade, which significantly influenced his legacy. After his death, his son, William, succeeded him and would later become the King of England after the Norman Conquest in 1066.
