Duke René II
Duke René II (1430-1470) was a prominent nobleman from the House of Anjou. He ruled as the Duke of Lorraine from 1453 until his death. René II is known for his efforts to strengthen the duchy and for his military campaigns against rival factions, particularly the Duke of Burgundy.
René II was also a patron of the arts and culture, promoting the development of Renaissance ideas in his territory. His reign is marked by the consolidation of power and the establishment of Lorraine as an important political entity in Eastern France.
