Duchy of Pomerania
The Duchy of Pomerania was a historical region located along the southern shore of the Baltic Sea, primarily in present-day northern Poland and northeastern Germany. It emerged in the 12th century and was ruled by the Griffin dynasty. The duchy played a significant role in the trade and politics of the Baltic region, with its capital in Stettin (now Szczecin).
Throughout its history, the duchy experienced various territorial changes and was influenced by neighboring powers, including the Teutonic Knights and the Swedish Empire. In the 17th century, it became part of the Holy Roman Empire and later was divided into several parts, eventually becoming integrated into modern states.
