Duamutef
Duamutef is one of the four sons of the Egyptian god Horus, often depicted as a jackal or a man with a jackal's head. He is associated with the protection of the deceased and is one of the four canopic gods, each responsible for guarding specific organs of the mummified body. Duamutef specifically protects the stomach and is often shown with a canopic jar.
In ancient Egyptian belief, Duamutef was also linked to the afterlife and the journey of the soul. He was believed to help guide the deceased through the underworld, ensuring their safe passage and protection from harm. His role highlights the importance of preservation and protection in ancient Egyptian funerary practices.
