Dreamers
"Dreamers" is a term commonly used to refer to young undocumented immigrants in the United States who were brought to the country as children. Many of these individuals are protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which allows them to live and work in the U.S. without fear of deportation, provided they meet certain criteria.
The DREAM Act, which stands for Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors, is a legislative proposal aimed at providing a pathway to legal status for these young immigrants. The act has been introduced multiple times in Congress but has not yet been passed into law, leaving many Dreamers in a state of uncertainty regarding their future.
