Dragonfly Nymph
A Dragonfly Nymph is the aquatic larval stage of a dragonfly, belonging to the order Odonata. These nymphs live in freshwater habitats like ponds, lakes, and streams, where they can be found hiding among vegetation or in the sediment. They have elongated bodies, large eyes, and extendable jaws, which they use to catch prey.
Dragonfly nymphs are important predators in their ecosystems, feeding on small aquatic insects and even other nymphs. They undergo several molts before emerging as adult dragonflies, a process known as metamorphosis. This transformation allows them to transition from their underwater life to flying as adults.
