Dr. Edward Angle
Dr. Edward Angle was an American dentist born in 1855, widely recognized as the father of modern orthodontics. He developed the first classification system for dental malocclusions, which helped orthodontists diagnose and treat misaligned teeth and jaws. His work laid the foundation for many orthodontic practices used today.
In addition to his classification system, Angle founded the Angle Orthodontist journal and established the Angle School of Orthodontia in 1900. He emphasized the importance of proper dental alignment for overall health and aesthetics, significantly influencing the field of dentistry and orthodontics throughout the 20th century.
