Dover Bronze Age Boat
The Dover Bronze Age Boat is a well-preserved ancient vessel discovered in 1992 near Dover, England. Dating back to around 1550-1350 BC, it is one of the oldest known seagoing boats in Northern Europe. Made from oak planks, the boat measures about 9 meters long and showcases advanced construction techniques for its time.
The boat was found buried in a chalk pit and is believed to have been used for trade or fishing. Its discovery has provided valuable insights into Bronze Age maritime technology and the seafaring capabilities of ancient peoples in the region.
