Homonym: Doubting Thomas (Skeptic)
"Doubting Thomas" refers to the biblical figure Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. After Jesus' resurrection, Thomas was not present when the other apostles saw Him. When they told him about the event, he expressed skepticism, famously stating that he would not believe until he could see and touch Jesus' wounds.
Later, Jesus appeared to Thomas and invited him to touch His wounds, leading Thomas to proclaim, "My Lord and my God!" This story, found in the Gospel of John, highlights themes of faith and doubt, illustrating that even the faithful can struggle with belief.
