Dora Gun
The term "Dora Gun" refers to a large artillery piece used by Nazi Germany during World War II. Officially named the Schwerer Gustav, it was designed to destroy heavily fortified targets, such as the French Maginot Line. The gun was one of the largest and heaviest railway guns ever built, weighing about 1,350 tons and measuring over 47 feet in length.
The Dora Gun was capable of firing shells weighing up to 2,000 pounds over a distance of approximately 30 miles. Its construction required significant resources and engineering, making it a symbol of the extreme measures taken during the war. Despite its impressive capabilities, the gun was used only a few times before being rendered obsolete by advancements in military technology.
