Dominique Dawes
Dominique Dawes is a retired American gymnast who gained fame for her remarkable performances in the 1990s. Born on November 20, 1976, in Silver Spring, Maryland, she became the first African American woman to win an individual Olympic medal in gymnastics, earning a bronze in the floor exercise at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
