Domenico Modugno
Domenico Modugno was an Italian singer, songwriter, and actor, born on January 9, 1928, in Polignano a Mare, Italy. He is best known for his iconic song "Volare" (originally titled "Nel blu dipinto di blu"), which became a worldwide hit in 1958. Modugno's unique voice and emotive performances helped popularize Italian music globally.
In addition to his music career, Modugno was also a talented actor, appearing in several films and theatrical productions. He won multiple awards, including Grammy Awards, and is often regarded as one of the most influential figures in Italian music history. Modugno passed away on August 6, 1994.
