Doll Festival
The Doll Festival, also known as Hinamatsuri, is a traditional Japanese celebration held on March 3rd each year. This festival is dedicated to the health and happiness of girls. Families display ornate dolls, called Hina Ningyo, which represent the Emperor, Empress, and their court. These dolls are often arranged on a tiered platform covered with a red cloth.
During the festival, families also enjoy special foods, such as chirashi sushi and shirozake, a sweet rice wine. The celebration is a time for parents to pray for their daughters' well-being and future happiness, making it a cherished occasion in Japanese culture.
