Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine
Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, or DOs, are fully licensed physicians who practice in all areas of medicine. They receive training similar to that of MDs (Doctors of Medicine) but also focus on a holistic approach to patient care. This includes understanding how the body’s systems work together and emphasizing preventive health measures.
In addition to conventional medical training, DOs are trained in osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), which involves using the hands to diagnose and treat various conditions. This approach allows DOs to provide comprehensive care, addressing both physical and emotional health to promote overall well-being.
