Divorce in Islam
In Islam, divorce is known as Talaq, which allows a husband to initiate the process. The husband must pronounce the word "Talaq" three times, either in one sitting or over a period of time, to finalize the divorce. This practice emphasizes the importance of reflection and reconciliation before the final decision.
For women, divorce can be initiated through Khula, where a woman requests a divorce, often in exchange for returning her dowry. Both processes aim to ensure fairness and provide a structured approach to ending a marriage, while also considering the rights and responsibilities of both parties.
