Displacement Hulls
A displacement hull is a type of boat hull designed to move through water by pushing it aside rather than riding on top of it. This design is efficient for slower speeds and provides stability and comfort, making it ideal for larger vessels like yachts and cargo ships. Displacement hulls typically have a rounded or V-shaped bottom, which helps them glide smoothly through the water.
These hulls are characterized by their ability to displace a significant amount of water, creating buoyancy. As a result, they are less affected by waves and can handle rough conditions better than planing hulls, which are designed for higher speeds. Displacement hulls are often preferred for long-distance travel and heavy loads.
