Disk Emulation
Disk Emulation is a technology that allows a computer to simulate a physical disk drive using software. This means that instead of using a physical disk, the system can read and write data to a virtual disk image stored on the hard drive. This is commonly used for running software that requires a disk, such as games or operating systems, without needing the actual media.
By using disk images, which are files that contain the complete contents of a disk, users can easily manage and access data. Disk Emulation is often utilized in virtual machines, allowing multiple operating systems to run on a single physical machine while maintaining their own virtual disks.
