A directory structure is the way files and folders are organized on a computer or server. It resembles a tree, where the main folder, often called the root directory, branches out into subfolders and files. This organization helps users easily locate and manage their data, as each folder can contain related files, making navigation straightforward.
In a typical directory structure, folders can be nested within other folders, creating a hierarchy. For example, a folder named Documents might contain subfolders like Work and Personal, each holding relevant files. This systematic arrangement enhances efficiency and keeps data organized.
