Direction Centrale du Renseignement Intérieur
The Direction Centrale du Renseignement Intérieur (DCRI) is a French intelligence agency responsible for domestic security and counter-terrorism. Established in 2008, it operates under the Ministry of the Interior and aims to protect France from internal threats, including terrorism and organized crime. The DCRI gathers intelligence, conducts investigations, and collaborates with other security agencies.
The DCRI was later integrated into the Direction Générale de la Sécurité Intérieure (DGSI) in 2014, enhancing its capabilities in intelligence and security operations. This integration aimed to streamline France's domestic intelligence efforts and improve responses to emerging threats, ensuring public safety and national security.
