Digo language
The Digo language is a Bantu language spoken primarily in the coastal region of Tanzania. It is part of the larger family of Bantu languages, which are widely distributed across sub-Saharan Africa. The Digo people, who are the primary speakers of this language, have a rich cultural heritage that includes traditional music, dance, and crafts.
Digo is primarily spoken in the Lindi and Mtwara regions of Tanzania, with an estimated 200,000 speakers. The language has several dialects, reflecting the diverse communities within the Digo population. Efforts are being made to preserve and promote the Digo language and culture in the face of globalization and language shift.
