Dido-class
The Dido-class was a group of light cruisers built for the Royal Navy during World War II. Designed for versatility, these ships were equipped for anti-aircraft, anti-surface, and anti-submarine warfare. They typically displaced around 5,000 tons and were armed with a combination of 5.25-inch guns and various smaller caliber weapons.
A total of 16 Dido-class cruisers were constructed, with the first ship, HMS Dido, launched in 1937. These vessels played significant roles in various naval operations, including the Mediterranean and Pacific theaters, contributing to the Royal Navy's efforts throughout the war.
