Diahann Carroll
Diahann Carroll was an American actress and singer, born on July 17, 1935, in the Bronx, New York. She gained fame for her role in the television series Julia, which made her the first African American woman to star in her own television series. Carroll was known for her elegance and talent, earning a Tony Award for her performance in the Broadway musical No Strings.
