Dhanteras
Dhanteras is a Hindu festival celebrated two days before Diwali, marking the beginning of the five-day Diwali festivities. It usually falls in October or November and is dedicated to Lord Dhanvantari, the god of health and medicine. On this day, people worship Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, and seek blessings for prosperity and well-being.
Traditionally, families clean and decorate their homes, and many purchase new items, especially gold or silver, as a symbol of good fortune. The festival emphasizes the importance of wealth and health, making it a significant occasion for both spiritual and material prosperity.
