Devil's Gate Dam
Devil's Gate Dam is a concrete arch dam located in the San Gabriel Mountains of California. Completed in 1920, it was built to control flooding and manage water supply for the surrounding areas. The dam creates the Devil's Gate Reservoir, which is part of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District.
The dam stands approximately 200 feet tall and spans 1,200 feet across the Devil's Gate Canyon. It plays a crucial role in protecting nearby communities from potential flood risks while also providing recreational opportunities, such as fishing and hiking, in the surrounding natural areas.
