Deva (God)
A Deva is a term used in various Indian religions, including Hinduism and Buddhism, to refer to a divine being or god. In Hinduism, Devas are often associated with natural forces and are considered benevolent, representing aspects of creation, preservation, and destruction. They are typically depicted in sacred texts and art, embodying virtues and powers that influence the world.
In Buddhism, Devas are seen as celestial beings who inhabit higher realms of existence. While they possess great powers and enjoy long lives, they are not considered eternal and are subject to the cycle of birth and rebirth, known as samsara. Both traditions emphasize the importance of moral conduct and spiritual growth in relation to Devas.
