Detroit Shock
The Detroit Shock was a professional women's basketball team based in Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 1998, the team played in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) until 2009. The Shock was known for its competitive spirit and strong performances, winning three WNBA championships in 2003, 2006, and 2008.
The team was originally based in Pioneer High School before moving to the Palace of Auburn Hills for home games. The Shock featured several notable players, including Cheryl Ford and Deanna Nolan, who contributed to the team's success and popularity during its active years.
