Detroit Dam
The Detroit Dam is a concrete gravity dam located on the Santiam River in Oregon, USA. Completed in 1953, it was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide flood control, hydroelectric power, and irrigation support. The dam creates Detroit Lake, which serves as a recreational area for fishing, boating, and camping.
Standing at 400 feet long and 150 feet high, the Detroit Dam has a total capacity of 1,000 megawatts of electricity. It plays a crucial role in managing water resources in the region, helping to maintain river flow and support local ecosystems.
