Desert Hedgehog
The Desert Hedgehog is a small mammal found primarily in arid regions of the Middle East and North Africa. It has a spiny coat that provides protection from predators and helps it blend into its desert environment. This species typically has a body length of about 20 to 30 centimeters and is nocturnal, foraging for insects, small invertebrates, and fruits during the cooler night hours.
These hedgehogs are solitary animals and are known for their ability to curl into a tight ball when threatened, using their spines as a defense mechanism. They are part of the family Erinaceidae and play a role in controlling insect populations in their habitats.
