Derailleurs
A derailleur is a crucial component of a bicycle's gear system. It is responsible for moving the chain between different gears on the front and rear cogs, allowing the rider to change gears smoothly. This mechanism helps optimize pedaling efficiency and speed, especially on varied terrains.
There are two main types of derailleurs: the front derailleur and the rear derailleur. The front derailleur shifts the chain between the chainrings, while the rear derailleur manages the chain's position on the cassette. Together, they enable cyclists to adapt to different riding conditions and maintain optimal performance.
