Dental Tissue
Dental tissue refers to the various types of biological materials that make up the structure of teeth. The main components include enamel, dentin, pulp, and cementum. Enamel is the hard outer layer that protects the tooth, while dentin is the softer layer beneath it. The pulp contains nerves and blood vessels, providing nourishment and sensation.
Cementum is a bone-like tissue that covers the tooth's root, helping anchor it to the jawbone. Together, these tissues work to support the function of teeth in chewing and speaking, as well as maintaining overall oral health.
