Dense Connective Tissue
Dense connective tissue is a type of connective tissue characterized by a high concentration of collagen fibers, which provide strength and resistance to stretching. This tissue is found in areas that require support and durability, such as tendons, which connect muscles to bones, and ligaments, which connect bones to other bones.
There are two main types of dense connective tissue: dense regular and dense irregular. Dense regular connective tissue has fibers arranged in parallel, allowing it to withstand tension in one direction, while dense irregular connective tissue has fibers arranged in a more random pattern, providing strength in multiple directions.
