Democratic Labor Party
The Democratic Labor Party (DLP) is a political party in Australia, founded in 1955. It emerged from a split in the Australian Labor Party (ALP) due to ideological differences, particularly regarding communism and trade unionism. The DLP aimed to represent the interests of workers while promoting social conservatism and anti-communism.
Historically, the DLP has been influential in Australian politics, especially during the 1960s and 1970s, when it held seats in the Senate. Although its prominence has declined, the party continues to advocate for policies that align with its founding principles, including support for family values and economic freedom.
