Delta Stewardship Council
The Delta Stewardship Council is a California state agency established to manage the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, a vital ecosystem and water supply source. Its primary goal is to ensure a sustainable balance between environmental health, water supply reliability, and flood risk management in the Delta region.
The Council develops and implements the Delta Plan, a comprehensive strategy that guides decision-making and actions related to land use, water management, and habitat restoration. It collaborates with various stakeholders, including local governments, water agencies, and environmental organizations, to promote effective stewardship of the Delta's resources.
