Decimalisation
Decimalisation is the process of converting a currency system to a base-10 format, making calculations simpler and more straightforward. This typically involves dividing the currency into 100 smaller units, such as cents in the case of the United States Dollar or pence in the British Pound.
Many countries have undergone decimalisation to modernize their monetary systems, improving efficiency in trade and accounting. For example, the United Kingdom decimalised its currency in 1971, moving from the old system of pounds, shillings, and pence to a decimal system, which has since made transactions easier for consumers and businesses alike.
