Davidian Movement
The Davidian Movement is a religious group that emerged in the 1930s as an offshoot of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Founded by Victor Houteff, the movement emphasizes the prophetic teachings of the Bible, particularly focusing on the book of Revelation. The group believes in the imminent return of Christ and the establishment of a new kingdom on Earth.
Members of the Davidian Movement often engage in communal living and promote a lifestyle based on their interpretation of scripture. The movement gained significant attention during the 1993 Waco siege, when a group of Davidians, led by David Koresh, faced a standoff with federal authorities. This event highlighted the tensions between religious groups and government agencies in the United States.
