David West is a retired professional basketball player from the United States. He was born on August 29, 1980, in Teaneck, New Jersey. West played college basketball at Xavier University and was selected by the New Orleans Hornets as the 18th overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. Over his career, he played for several teams, including the Indiana Pacers and the Golden State Warriors. West was known for his strong scoring ability and versatility as a power forward.
