David Vetter
David Vetter was a boy born in 1971 with a rare genetic disorder known as severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), which left him unable to fight off infections. Due to his condition, he lived most of his life in a sterile environment, famously known as the "bubble." This isolation was necessary to protect him from germs and diseases that could be life-threatening.
David's story gained widespread attention, highlighting the challenges faced by those with SCID. He became a symbol of the struggles associated with genetic disorders and the importance of medical advancements. Sadly, David passed away in 1984 at the age of 12, after undergoing a transplant that ultimately failed.
