David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) is a non-profit organization based in Kenya, dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and habitats. Founded in 1977 by Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick, the trust focuses primarily on the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned elephants and rhinos. The organization operates the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nursery, where young animals receive care and are eventually reintroduced into the wild.
In addition to animal rescue, the DSWT is involved in anti-poaching efforts and community outreach programs. The trust works to educate local communities about wildlife conservation and promote sustainable practices, ensuring a future where both people and wildlife can thrive together.
