David Ruffin
David Ruffin was an American singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the popular Motown group, The Temptations. Born on January 18, 1941, in Whynot, Mississippi, he joined the group in 1964 and contributed to their classic hits, including "My Girl" and "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." His powerful voice and charismatic stage presence helped define the sound of the era.
Ruffin's tenure with The Temptations was marked by both success and personal struggles. He left the group in 1971 to pursue a solo career, achieving moderate success with songs like "My Whole World Ended." Despite his talent, Ruffin faced challenges with substance abuse and financial difficulties later in life, passing away on June 1, 1991.
