Danishmendids
The Danishmendids were a Turkish dynasty that ruled parts of central and eastern Anatolia during the 11th and 12th centuries. Founded by Danishmend Gazi, the dynasty emerged after the Seljuk Turks' victory over the Byzantine Empire. They played a significant role in the region's political landscape, often engaging in conflicts with both the Byzantine Empire and the Crusaders.
The Danishmendids were known for their military prowess and territorial expansion. Their capital was Sivas, and they established several important cities, contributing to the cultural and economic development of Anatolia. The dynasty eventually fell under the control of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum in the late 12th century.
