Dangun Myth
The Dangun Myth is a foundational legend in Korean culture that tells the story of the creation of Gojoseon, the first Korean kingdom. According to the myth, Dangun Wanggeom, the son of a heavenly prince and a bear-woman, founded the kingdom in 2333 BCE. The bear-woman transformed from a bear into a human after living in a cave for 100 days, symbolizing purity and perseverance.
