Daibutsu
The term "Daibutsu" refers to large statues of the Buddha found in Japan. One of the most famous examples is the Great Buddha of Nara, located in the Todai-ji temple. This statue, completed in 752 AD, stands about 15 meters tall and is made of bronze, symbolizing the importance of Buddhism in Japanese culture.
Another notable Daibutsu is the Great Buddha of Kamakura, which was completed in 1252 AD. This statue, made of bronze as well, is approximately 13.35 meters tall and sits in the open air at Kamakura. Both statues attract numerous visitors and serve as significant cultural and historical landmarks.
