Dacian Civilization
The Dacian Civilization thrived in the region that is now modern-day Romania and parts of Moldova from around 300 BC until the Roman conquest in 106 AD. The Dacians were known for their advanced agricultural practices, metalworking, and fortified settlements, particularly the impressive Dacian fortresses in the Orăștie Mountains.
Dacians spoke a language related to the Thracian languages and had a rich spiritual life, worshipping deities such as Zalmoxis. Their society was organized into tribes, and they engaged in trade with neighboring cultures, including the Greeks and Celts, which influenced their art and technology.
