DSD over PCM
DSD over PCM (DoP) is a method used to transmit Direct Stream Digital (DSD) audio signals over a standard Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) audio stream. This technique allows high-resolution audio files to be played on devices that primarily support PCM, making it easier to enjoy high-quality sound without needing specialized equipment.
In DoP, the DSD data is encapsulated within a PCM frame, allowing it to be sent through conventional digital audio interfaces like USB or S/PDIF. This approach maintains the integrity of the DSD signal while ensuring compatibility with a wide range of audio playback systems.
