DREAMers
"DREAMers" refers to young undocumented immigrants in the United States who were brought to the country as children. The term comes from the DREAM Act, proposed legislation aimed at providing them with a pathway to legal status. These individuals often face challenges in accessing education and employment due to their immigration status.
Many DREAMers have grown up in the U.S. and consider it their home, contributing to their communities and the economy. The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, established in 2012, offers temporary protection from deportation for eligible DREAMers, allowing them to work and study legally.
