DHCP Server
A DHCP Server (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol Server) is a network service that automatically assigns IP addresses and other network configuration settings to devices on a network. This process simplifies the management of IP addresses, ensuring that each device can communicate effectively without manual configuration.
When a device connects to a network, it sends a request to the DHCP Server for an IP address. The server then responds with an available IP address and relevant information, such as the subnet mask and default gateway. This allows devices to join the network quickly and efficiently, reducing the potential for conflicts and errors.
