Curling Tools
Curling tools are essential equipment used in the sport of curling. The primary tools include the curling stone, which is a heavy, polished granite rock that players slide across the ice towards a target area. Each team uses eight stones during a match, aiming to position them closer to the center of the target, known as the house.
Another important tool is the broom, which players use to sweep the ice in front of the sliding stone. Sweeping reduces friction and can influence the stone's speed and direction. Additionally, players may use a slider on their shoes to help them glide smoothly on the ice while delivering the stone.
