Cuitláhuac
Cuitláhuac was a ruler of the Aztec Empire, known for his leadership during the Spanish conquest in the early 16th century. He became the emperor after the death of his brother, Moctezuma II, and led the Aztecs in their resistance against the Spanish forces led by Hernán Cortés. His reign was marked by efforts to unite the Aztec people against the invaders.
Cuitláhuac ruled for a brief period, from 1520 to 1521, before succumbing to smallpox. Despite his short reign, he is remembered for his bravery and determination to defend the Aztec Empire. His legacy continues to be significant in discussions about indigenous resistance to colonialism.
